Talk about a cheap date. Little Beast, the cute neighborhood fine-dining spot nestled in a Craftsman on Eagle Rock’s Colorado Boulevard, is offering a delicious deal. Starting tonight, patrons who can nab one of the four seats at the restaurant’s bar can also get an entree for $5.
The program, which they’re calling Five Bucks at the Bar, will run Monday through Friday from open to close. There will be one entree offered for the special price, and it will change nightly. Tonight, to mark the beginning of their Monday-night dinner service (they used to take Mondays off), the $5 plate will be Southern Fried Chicken served with cole slaw and buttermilk biscuits with honey and butter. And if you can’t get a bar seat, you can still have the half-chicken dish ($21), which will be available along with the full menu.
“We were so busy when we opened a year ago, that we had to close on Mondays just to give the staff—and me—a day off,” says chef Sean Lowenthal. “We’ve finally managed to open for service on Mondays, and I specifically wanted to offer a comfort food to our guests to help our neighbors with the Monday blues. We’re cooking a very traditional Southern Fried Chicken with buttermilk biscuits, and it’s just so delicious. I’m confident that it’ll be a big hit.”
No reservations will be taken for the bar—it’s strictly first come, first served.
