Farm Fresh Dinner at FIG

Beets, carrots, favas, and peas are all in their prime right now, and at FIG’s Farm Dinner on Wednesday, May 11, they’ll be put to the test. The restaurant’s chef, Ray Garcia, is all about cooking up dishes that allow for local, seasonal ingredients to speak for themselves—and tomorrow night’s dinner will be no different.

Showcasing fresh, organic produce from the McGrath Family Farm, which has been growing since 1868 (pun intended), the fourth-generation farmers will eat alongside local food lovers at the one-night-only event. Menu selections will include a red beet risotto; a spiced duck salad with pickled carrots, daikon, and cucumber; peas paired with mint and parsley; a carrot pappardelle with braised rabbit; imported cheese flights; stuffed honey dates with Fourme d’Ambert and almonds; all natural California prime steaks; and a short rib and pancetta meatloaf. To top it all off, in-season strawberries will steal the show with five dessert options including strawberry rhubarb crumble and a strawberry shortcake with basil ice cream. Yum!
