What: Burbank’s Tony’s Darts Away brings back its popular vegan chili cook-off this weekend. Five chefs—Erick Simmons (Tony’s Darts Away, Mohawk Bend), our own Randy Clemens (The Veggie-Lover’s Sriracha Cookbook), Greg Daniels (Haven Collective), Zel and Reuben Allen (VegParadise.com), and Alec Loguercio (Chili John’s)—will compete for top honors. Judging the bunch are chef Tal Ronnen (Crossroads Kitchen), Cathy Chaplin (author of Food Lover’s Guide to Los Angeles), and our own Caroline on Crack.
Will there be favoritism between colleagues? Or will the best chili rise to the top?!
When: Sunday, March 2 from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Where: Tony’s Darts Away, 1710 W. Magnolia Blvd., Burbank.
How: The event is open to the public. Admission is $10 per guest at the door and includes three-ounce tastes of each chili and a ballot to a vote for the People’s Choice winner.
