For the first time in more than 30 years, a hometown horse will attempt to win the prestigious Triple Crown title. In honor of local favorite California Chrome, this Saturday the Chandelier Room at the Santa Anita Park will host a Belmont Stakes viewing party for SoCal residents and the private room’s annual members.
The Chandelier Room’s consulting chef Christian Page (formerly of Short Order) will team up with ex-Osteria Mozza chef Christopher Feldmeier for a special “California Grub, Grapes & Grain” menu. Former Mozza general manager David Rosoff will be in charge of the wine, and mixologist Nathan Oliver (the Vagrancy Project, Harvard & Stone, Ink.) will be shaking up a slew of derby-savvy cocktails to kick off the festivities.
When: Saturday, June 7, 12 to 8 p.m. The Belmont Stakes race will screen at approximately 2:52 p.m. PST. (Note: Additional live races will be held throughout the day on the track at Santa Anita.)
Where: Chandelier Room at the Santa Anita Racetrack, 285 W. Huntington Dr., Arcadia, 626-574-7223.
How: Tickets are $150 per person, but the first 100 people to purchase tickets with the promo code CHANDELIER will receive tickets for $75. Guests must be 21 and older to attend.
