Study Art and Sip Tequila at Museum of Latin American Art

The Long Beach museum hosts a night of spirit tasting

Take in some art, trump up your tequila knowledge. Long Beach’s Museum of Latin American Art Viva el Tequila event is just a week away. The annual event is a local favorite probably because it includes unlimited tastings of over 25 varieties of the distilled spirit.

Viva el Tequila will include tastings from Dulce Vida, El Jimador Tequila, Suerte Tequila, Tequila Herradura and others. But, it’s not just about doing shots—there’s also some learning involved, so you can get schooled on the traditions surrounding tequila as you sip. Yes, sip.

Food, which is included in the admission price, and entertainment will further liven up the festivities. Thank Goodness It’s Sofia, offering traditional Mexican dishes with a modern twist, will be catering the event, and you can expect plenty of music. Additionally, the museum’s galleries will be open to attendees until 9pm—so check out the Magical Realism and Modern Oaxaca exhibit.

Viva el Tequila takes place on November 15 from 7pm-11pm at MOLAA, 628 Alamitos Ave., Long Beach; 562-437-1689. Admission is $50 for non-members. Find out more and purchase tickets on their website.
