Eat Turkey Mole Tacos for a Good Cause at Sol Cocina and Solita

It’s an exciting time of the year: holiday parties, turkey, family, Black Friday madness, and, of course, all the delicious moles. But, most importantly, it’s a time to give thanks. All around town good folks like the people at Share Our Selves—a community health care provider for those in need in the Orange County area—are taking the time to remind us all what’s important about Thanksgiving. And this year, Sol Cocina in Costa Mesa and Solita Tacos and Margaritas in Valencia are giving us a delicious reason to support a great cause. Through this Wednesday, 100 percent of the profits from their seasonal turkey mole poblano tacos will be donated to Share Our Selves.

Chef Deborah Scheider is the author of critically acclaimed books like ¡Baja! Cooking on the Edge, The Mexican Slow Cooker, and Amor y Tacos and now has three branches of her Baja California and beyond-styled restaurant, Sol Cocina. Her taco blends the South of the border holiday classic of mole poblano with the American stand-by of roasted turkey. Schneider then adds melted cheese, dried cranberries, chunks of roasted butternut squash, and places all the holiday goodness on a homemade corn tortilla served with a pico de gallo salsa on the side.

As Sol Cocina’s website states, “Giving back never tasted better!” We couldn’t agree more. Turkey Mole Tacos for a Great Cause runs until November 25th.
