Eat Like a King at The Oinkster’s Elvis Birthday Bash

Festivities include a pork belly burger and a peanut butter/bacon/banana shake

Whether you’re a fan of Elvis or Thai Elvis–or both– you can pay tribute to the King of your choice tomorrow at The Oinkster. Both locations of Andre Guerrero’s burger mini-chain will be celebrating Presley’s 80th birthday with non-stop Elvis tunes, the Thai Elvis Burger, and an All Shook Up Shake.

Distinctly L.A. with a dash of Graceland, the Thai Elvis burger gives a nod to L.A.’s infamous Thai Elvis impersonator Kavee Thongprecha, who serenaded customers of Hollywood’s Palms Thai Restaurant five days a week for years. The Oinkster’s homage includes a seasoned pork patty topped with char siu pork belly, house-made peanut satay sauce, and fried plantains–sadly, no wild boar or frog legs are included.

Meanwhile, the All Shook Up Shake is all Presley. Inspired by the rock ‘n’ roller’s legendary favorite sandwich, the shake is a mix of Fosselman’s banana-walnut ice cream, peanut butter, and bacon bits. Suspicious minds might think that’s overkill, but we can’t help falling in love.

If you can’t make it to The Oinkster tomorrow, you’re in luck because both specials will be sticking around for the rest of the month. You’ll have to make do without the Elvis crooning, though–that’s just for tomorrow.
