David LeFevre to Leave Water Grill

The affable chef Mark Gold celebrates his anniversary with a little help from his friends.

Congratulations are in order for Eva, one of our 2010 Best New Restaurants. Gold has earned this milestone with his excellent food and a bigger than life personality. Joining him on this special anniversary kitchen duty are some of the city’s finest: Michael Cimarusti (Providence), Josiah Citrin (Melisse), Walter Manzke (formerly of Church and State) and Sherry Yard (Spago). Each will be taking on one dish in a five-course tasting menu that is open to the public on Wednesday, September 29th. Two seatings are available (between 5:30-6 p.m. and 8:30-9 p.m.) and dinner is priced at $150 with an additional $50 for wine pairings. Call for reservations, (323) 634-0700. Seating is limited.

On his restaurant’s blog Gold promised some surprises. He even posted his cell phone if anyone had questions. (Yikes!).
