Our trusty LAmag.com intern Kimberly Jacobs set her heart on being one of the first 100 customers through the door of the brand new Torrance Chick-fil-A, which held its grand opening today. She and everyone else in the South Bay…
“Eat Mor Chiken” is in full effect with the new standalone Chick-fil-A in the South Bay. I couldn’t wait to wake up this morning to a chicken biscuit sandwich at the restaurant’s grand opening. I arrived at 8 am to a crew of jubilant, welcoming faces prepared to take my order. I knew I was late—they opened at 6—but I just had to ask about the First 100: The first 100 people through the door that day would win free Chik-fil-A for a year. As it turns out, about 180 people had camped out the night before for the chance. Alas.
I mixed my brek-fest (breakfast) order up with waffle fries instead of hashbrowns and a squeeze of tangy Chik-fil-A sauce. My hardest decision was the jelly: grape, strawberry, or honey were all available. In the end, I went with grape. To drink? The signature Chick-fil-A lemonade.
