This chicken and waffles business is out of control! In the last few months Lay’s Potato Chips and Popeye’s introduced their version of the dish made famous by Long Beach-based Roscoe’s House of Chicken And Waffles, and now Taco Bell is getting in on the action? Gustavo Arellano of the OC Weekly reported on a chicken-stuffed taco waffle being tested at a drive-thru in Santa Ana. We know the recipe has been around at Roscoe’s original location in Hollywood since 1975, but it looks like it’s been a thing since at least 1927, when this handy tip for Vegetarians was published. If you want a break from the waffle overload, head down to Pann’s for some ol’ fashioned biscuits with your fried chicken.
