It’s been a while since Octavio and Shannon Olivas’ Ceviche Project made an L.A. appearance—the last time was all the way back in October—but after a short hiatus spent traveling, testing recipes, and even hosting a pop up in Mexico City, the couple is back with a seafood-centric brunch.
Set for Sunday, May 31, at Wood Handcrafted Pizza in Silver Lake, the event will feature five courses with wine pairings. While Olivas never divulges menu specifics in advance since the market dictates availability, the cevichero tells us we can expect oysters on the half shell, tiraditos, and, of course, plenty of ceviche. Dishes from past events have included Florida shrimp ceviche piled high with sea urchin, octopus, and avocado; and a spicy yellowtail tostada with cricket-and-ginger salt, hearts of palm, and habanero.
Tickets can be purchased in advance on Ceviche Projects Web site for $100 a person. These events always sell out and, especially since they haven’t hosted one in a while, it’s probably wise to nab your spot early.
