We need another holiday this time of year like we need another cookbook on our shelf (note: we have way too many cookbooks). But it turns out Sunday, December 5 is Repeal Day, marking the 77th anniversary of the day we Americans were invited to legally enjoy a little nip of bourbon from time to time. (Though, if you’ve been watching this season of Boardwalk Empire, it doesn’t seem like anyone really stopped).
Seven Grand is celebrating the occasion with a Plymouth Rocks Repeal Day party. Starting at 8 there will be $6 Plymouth Gin cocktails and “speakeasy-style debauchery” including burlesque dancing and a live Latin jazz quartet. We’re not sure how this is working, but they bar will also host “its own version” of craps and Blackjack (yes, it’s still Sunday) with prizes awarded to folks that can beat the house. Need something to soak up all that leftover moonshine? Cole’s French Dips are on the house! So don your best 1920s get-up and toast to our right to toast.
