No doubt you’ve been made aware of the impending “Carmageddon”, the closure of a large section of the 405 freeway during the weekend of July 16-18. It’s been a trending topic on Twitter
, a cause of concern among celebrities
, and even the topic of a PSA
by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. The consensus among them seems to be that residents should ‘stay home’ for the entire weekend (depressing, we know). Wilshire Restaurant in Santa Monica, however, is providing a reason for motorists to venture out of their homes. From July 16-18 the restaurant will offer a four-course “405 Sig Alert” dinner for 40.05 per person. Dish choices include a miso black cod with tamarind glaze, braised short rib with glazed cipollini onion, truffled half chicken with sweet onion potato puree, and panko-crusted tofu. Unfortunately, transportation is not included.
