There are few L.A. traditions more beloved than weekend brunch. Besides the joy of being given license to drink with your friends before noon, there’s something thrilling about having the option to decide between a burger and pancakes at a restaurant that isn’t an after-last-call diner. Yeah, you might have to wait in line for what seems like an eternity on a Sunday morning, but doesn’t that make the first bite of jam-slathered biscuit or fried chicken sinfully drenched in maple syrup taste all the better?
Like so many other things, this weekly ritual has been disrupted by the pandemic, but in celebration of new rituals—take-out brunch in the park!—and in anticipation of the eventual return of in-restaurant dining once the virus is under control, we’re staging our first-ever Brunch Bracket, a March Madness-style battle of the brunches.
Our editors curated a list of 16 spots across the city with outstanding brunch offerings (most if not all of which are currently open for takeout). Is your favorite spot on the list? Help it advance through each round of the competition by registering with a valid email address and then casting a vote. All valid registrations will automatically be entered in a random drawing to win prizes (TBD) each week that the bracket is open. Note: You must be 18 years of age to participate and 21 and up to claim prizes.
