Known for fresh-baked pastries, sandwiches on Homeboy Industries bread, and exotic breakfast dishes like a faro bibimbap
, Black Cat Bakery
is finally doing dinner. Starting tonight, the Fairfax nook (our offices are around the corner—we’re here a lot) debuts its eclectic evening menu including borcht, Salsbury lamb Uzbek-style (!) with mint yogurt and jeweled saffron rice, a bacon cheeseburger (of course), and what we’ve heard is a killer chicken-liver mousse inspired by a Julia Child recipe.
The beer and wine license is pending, but we hope to wash down that Burgundy beef with a nice red in a couple of months. For now, we’ll stick to the coffee—which we’re sure will pair juuust right with the peach blackberry cobbler for dessert. Me-ow!
