Alma’s Ari Taymor Among Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs

The list for 2014 was announced by EIC Dana Cowin this morning

Chef Ari Taymor’s star continues to get brighter. This morning, the chef and co-owner of downtown’s Alma was named one of Food & Wine‘s Best New Chefs for 2014. Earlier this year, Food & Wine put Alma on L.A.’s A-List. Last year, Alma graced the best restaurant lists of GQ and Bon Appetit, and Los Angeles magazine’s restaurant critic Patric Kuh added it to his annual Best New Restaurants issue.

Food & Wine editor in chief Dana Cowin began announcing the winners this morning on instagram by posting selfies with each chef. We received the official press release moments ago.

The complete list also includes chefs Justin Yu (Oxheart, Houston); Cara Stadler (Tao Yuan, Brunswick, ME); Greg Denton (Ox, Portland, OR); Matthew Accarrino (SPQR, San Francisco); Paul Qui (Qui, Austin); Eli Kulp (Fork, Philadelphia); Dave Beran  (Next, Chicago); Matt McCallister (FT33, Dallas); and Walker Stern and Joe Ogrodnek (Dover, Brooklyn).

Tomorrow, Food & Wine will reveal the winners of the People’s Best New Chefs.

Congratulations to all!
