This weekend’s playlist includes a new track from Silk Sonic (Bruno Mars and Anderson. Paak), a collaboration from L.A. artists Buddy and Blxst, and a remix from Katy Perry and Alesso.
Long Beach rapper Vince Staples has teamed up with L.A. producer and DJ, Mustard, for a new track titled “Magic.” Produced by Lewis Hughes, Mustard, Nick “Unknown Nick” Audino, and My Best Friend Jacob, it’s the first single from Staples’ upcoming album Ramona Park Broke My Heart, which is due out in April via Blacksmith Recordings and Motown Records. Katy Perry and Alesso have unveiled an even more energetic and upbeat version of their January single “When I’m Gone.” Alesso’s edit takes listeners to the club or the front row of their favorite electronic festival. Another exciting L.A. collaboration comes from Buddy and Blxst who released a single called “Wait Too Long.” The R&B-influenced song arrives with an accompanying visual by directed by Obsidian, which sees Buddy dealing with the aftermath of a wild party he had the night before. Silk Sonic, “Love’s Train” (Con Funk Shun Cover)
Just days after Con Funk Shun graced the stage at the Taste of Inglewood during Super Bowl weekend in L.A., singing duo, Silk Sonic, released a cover of one of their tracks. Bruno Mars and Anderson. Paak, who make up Silk Sonic, shared the cover of Con Funk Shun’s 1982 song “Love’s Train” on Valentine’s Day.
“This is one of Silk Sonic’s favorite songs originally recorded by the group Con Funk Shun,” Mars wrote on Instagram about the release. “Every time @anderson._paak and I get behind instruments we play this. We love this song so much we wanted to sing it for y’all.”
The multi talented musician from Atlanta released two tracks on Friday including a smooth R&B joint called “What’s Love” and the trap-influenced “S.H.O. (Sl*t Him Out).” Earlier this week, Baby Tate announced that she will be supporting Charli XCX on tour this spring. [artist info]

New York City duo, Lion Babe, teamed up with hip-hop icon, Busta Rhymes, for an irresistible dance single titled “Harder.” Also, Amaarae shared a luxurious visual for her anthem, “Sad Girlz Luv Money,” featuring Kali Uchis and Moliy, and Louisville rapper Jack Harlow dropped a visual for his latest single “Nail Tech.”
