If you want to meet Bill Murray, get engaged and head to South Carolina. Lately, the irascible funnyman has taken on a recurring role as an uninvited but warmly welcomed guest at wedding-related activities.
In late May, the twice-divorced Murray crashed a bachelor party in Charleston, where he offered advice not to the groom but to the single guys in the room: “If you have someone that you think is the one… take that person and travel around the world… when you land in JFK and you’re still in love with that person, get married at the airport.”
More recently, Murray jumped into a lucky couple’s engagement photo shoot.
Photographer Raheel Gauba of Fia Forever Photography was snapping pictures of Ashley Donald and Erik Rogers in downtown Charleston when he noticed that something—or someone—was distracting them. He turned around to discover Murray with “his shirt up, belly out and patting it—his attempt to make the couple laugh,” he tells Huffington Post.
Murray isn’t known for loving the entertainment industry’s publicity machine, but we love that he has a way with the common folk.
