Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers aren’t looking to break their fans’ hearts. When their June 8 show at the Fonda Theatre was shut down after 30 minutes by the fire marshal who cited overcrowding, the veteran songwriter declared, “If it has to come out of my own pocket, everyone will get reimbursed.” Staying true to his word, the band and Ticketmaster are issuing full refunds for the interrupted concert. All fans who attended the show can request a refund with proof of purchase anytime before September 10, 2013.
Original Ticketmaster purchasers can obtain a refund by calling Ticketmaster customer support at 800-653-8000 between 9am-9pm (PDT) or by emailing them here. Orders will be refunded to the credit card originally used for the purchase. Customers who bought tickets night of show at the venue should bring their original ticket stub to the Fonda Theatre starting today for a full refund. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Last night, Petty closed out a six-night residency at the Fonda Theatre with no further interruptions. “I can guarantee we finish our set tonight,” he had said the previous night. And they did.
