Happy Christmas, everyone, because clearly the holiday came early this year. Entertainment Weekly has released the first production stills from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the Harry Potter prequel based on a Hogwarts textbook by the same name. Set for release in November of 2016 (accio November, #areweright), the film is Rowling’s first foray into screenwriting, which only heightens the anticipation.
Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne plays world renowned magizoologist Newt Scamander, author of the aforementioned textbook, who embarks on adventure in 1926 New York (a good 70 years before The Boy Who Lived even lived). The only other details we know to date: the movie will feature an American wizarding school—which, if Rowling knows what’s up, should really be in Los Angeles—as well as an American Version of the Ministry of Magic known as the Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA). Up until now information about the film has been guarded like a Death Eater in Azkaban, so no one will judge you for greedily ogling the photos below.
