Nostalgia can be powerful—and dangerous, financially speaking. Film fanatics and prop collectors will likely be hemorrhaging money come September 23, when the L.A.- and London-based Prop Store will auction off more than 450 lots of movie memorabilia. There’s a little bit of something for everyone: Jim Henson devotees might be interested in bidding on a Fizzgig puppet from The Dark Crystal, Superman fans have the chance to own Christopher Reeve’s Muscle Tunic, and sci-fi nerds will likely rejoice over pieces like Number 6’s Battlestar Gallactica wardrobe, Leeloo Dallas’s Multi Pass (The Fifth Element), and Leonard Nimoy’s Science Officer costume from Star Trek. The live event will take place at ODEON BFI IMAX in Waterloo, London, but fear not: interactive bidding via Internet and phone will be available for us geeks on the home front.
