It doesn’t look like comedy’s funniest ladies are really feeling the Bern. Lena Dunham has been repping hard for Hillary Clinton, Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson devoted an entire episode of Broad City to worshiping the presumptive Democratic candidate, and tonight at 8 p.m., Tig Notaro, Retta, Fortune Feimster, Maria Bamford, and more will be gathering at the Ace Hotel for an evening titled Women Stand Up for Hillary.
Even if you think Clinton has the nomination locked up, or you plan to help Bernie Sanders score some delegates come June 7, this lineup is hard to resist. The performances, not to mention the Trump jokes, promise to be worth the varying price of admission. Tickets start at $15, and go all the way to a cool grand (for that, you get to hobnob with the talent before the show). Proceeds go to Hillary Victory Fund.
Notaro has been breaking hearts with her bittersweet Amazon comedy One Mississippi, and popping up semi-regularly on Transparent. Former Chelsea Lately writer/performer Feimster steals scenes in Hulu’s The Mindy Project, Bamford’s Lady Dynamite will be your next binge-watch when it premieres on Netflix May 20, and Parks and Recreation’s Retta would definitely suggest you treat yo’self to this evening of Hillar-ity.
