In the midst of the consumer frenzy that is the holiday shopping season, a few local institutions are doing what they can to make Thanksgiving special for those who can’t afford a big meal.
House of Blues | Feed the Souls
November 27, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
8430 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood
It started in 1992 when the House of Blues fed the local homeless community before serving concertgoers that evening. Ever since, this annual tradition has taken place on Thanksgiving, feeding more than 1,000 people who gather for a delicious meal and good music. Laugh Factory Thanksgiving Feast
8001 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles
For the 34th year the Los Angeles Laugh Factory hosts its annual Thanksgiving feast. The event is free of charge to anyone in search of a Thanksgiving dinner and a good laugh. Five meal service times will be followed by a live comedy show performed by top comedians. The Laugh Factory’s other U.S. locations also participate in the tradition. More information
