After trouncing the New Jersey Devils 6-1 in the Stanley Cup Finals, the Los Angeles Kings are preparing to celebrate in royal fashion. On Thursday the Kings and AEG will host a championship parade down Figueroa St. and a championship rally inside Staples Center. At noon, players and their families, coaches, staff, broadcasters, alumni, the Ice Crew, Bailey, and VIPs will ride on double-decker buses to showcase the Stanley Cup, Conn Smythe Trophy, and Clarence Campbell Cup. Following the parade at 2:30 p.m., a 60-minute, ticketed rally will highlight moments from the regular season and will include introductions of the team, staff, and executives—in addition to special presentations and surprises. Tickets for the rally are free, but priority will be given to season ticket holders and suite and premier seat owners. Reserve and print your own tickets starting at 6 p.m. today at lakings.com/parade. Public parking will be available along the parade route, in the Los Angeles Convention Center lots, and in the Staples Center lots. Because of the event, the following streets will be closed beginning at 4:00 a.m. Thursday: Figueroa Street, between Third Street and Pico Boulevard; 11th Street and Chick Hearn Court, between Figueroa and Cherry streets; and L.A. Live Way, between Olympic and Pico boulevards.
