Pappy + Harriet’s Hosts Palm Desert Scene Throwback Party

”Desert Generator” will take place this Saturday, April 9

Pappy + Harriet’s is getting back to nearby Palm Desert’s roots on Saturday by hosting Desert Generator, a throwback to the late 1980s/early 1990s generator parties that launched bands like Kyuss and, later on, Eagles of Death Metal. Featuring long, often weed- and hallucinogen-fueled jam sessions, generator parties were free and typically took place in the middle of the desert, where musicians could experiment and also do all of the drugs.

Desert Generator features five bands: Red Fang, Brant Bjork and The Low Desert Punk Band, Acid King, Golden Void, and Ecstatic Vision. Around 12:30 p.m., the venue will host the Rolling Heavy Van Show, a nod to van camp-ins that became popular in the 1970s. Desert Generator begins at sunset.

Tickets for Desert Generator are available here.

Pappy + Harriet’s is located at 53688 Pioneertown Road, Pioneertown, 92268. Desert Generator will take place on Saturday, April 9.
