Adam Driver, Jennifer Lopez, and Other Huge Stars Hit the Desert for the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards

The 31st annual gala might offer a hint at the rest of awards season

Palm Springs was a favorite escape for Old Hollywood stars, and while these days A-listers may be more likely to vacation on private islands far from prying paparazzi, they turned out in droves for the 31st Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala on January 2.

This year’s awards recipients included Renée Zellweger (Judy), Martin Scorsese (The Irishman), Adam Driver (Marriage Story), and Jamie Foxx (Just Mercy). A lifetime achievement award was presented to Laura Dern, in particular recognition of her work this year in both Marriage Story and Little Women. The red carpet fashions were strong, but nobody outshone Jennifer Lopez, who won the night’s Spotlight Award for Hustlers, in a vintage-styled floral gown with a train for days.
