The film The Beginners is getting lots of buzz for its beautiful storytelling and pitch-perfect casting (the always effective Christopher Plummer stands out only slightly alongside Ewan McGregor and Melanie Laurent). But it’s director Mike Mills’ depiction of Los Angeles that has us wanting to watch the film for a second time.
While we’d happily fork over 13 bucks to go back and focus more on how local landmarks are used in the film, it turns out we don’t have to. Mills has already opened up about shooting his characters in Neutra’s Health House, Elysian Park, the Biltmore hotel, LACMA, and other locations in this slide show from focusfeatures.com.
If only it came with popcorn.
