A Marionette of Lil Nas X Exists, Thanks to the Wacky Geniuses at the Bob Baker Theater

You might call him LIL Lil Nas X

On Tuesday, Twitter darling and “hick-hop” sensation Lil Nas X celebrated the release of his new EP 7 with a “silent rodeo” at L.A.’s recently reopened Bob Baker Marionette Theatre. Donning a holographic cowboy hat and matching boots by L.A. designers Phlemuns and Franc Fernandez, the rapper performed a selection of his new songs, and, of course, the viral hit “Old Town Road” that made him famous.

And, since the event took place at Bob Baker, the audience was treated to another surprise too—a marionette show starring a custom puppet made in the rapper’s likeness by the theatre’s staff. Dancing alongside some of the establishment’s other iconic stringed cast members, the even lil’er Lil Nas X came decked out in an all-orange fit and—of course—a tiny cowboy hat of his own. Scroll through for a peep at the performance:
