Solo artists pair up and duos go solo on Southland stages

[September 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29]
The singer/songwriter released her first single, “If Love’s a Gun, I’m Better Off Dead” at the beginning of September. It’s the first track from The Blank Tapes member’s forthcoming EP, due out on Lolipop Records in the near future.
Think: ‘60s surf rock at a breakneck pace.

Allison Pierce at the Hotel Café
[September 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30]
Allison Pierce was one half of the sister duo The Pierces, best known for“Secrets,” the theme song on Pretty Little Liars. After five albums, the twosome announced a hiatus in August to create solo albums.
Think: The soundtrack to a Grey’s Anatomy breakup scene.

Riothorse Royale at the Satellite
[September 7, 14, 21, and 28]
Comprised of local indie pop favorite Madi Diaz and NYC’s Emily Greene, Riothorse Royale has been getting early play on KROQ with its debut EP, “The Guest House.” They’ll be touring the southwest this October with Jose Gonzales after having hit the east coast earlier in 2015.
Think: Spacey garage rock on Quaaludes.

Danger Collective Records at the Bootleg Bar

The Bootleg Bar gets back in the residency game after a couple of months off with a weekly label showcase. Danger Collective Records is spread across Los Angeles, New York, and Seattle, and works with musicians, artists, and comedians.
