Kim Kardashian Thinks She Has Best Advice for Working Women, But Ex-Staffer Doesn’t Think So

A video interview for Variety where the Kardashian sisters discussed the merits of hard work has gone viral, and one former Kardashian employee has stepped into the fray, Tweeting that when she worked on the apps, she could hardly afford to put gas in her car.

Clad completely in black leather, Kim put the hammer down to anyone who wanted to emulate her success. “I have the best advice for women in business,” Kim said. “Get your f–king ass up and work. It seems like nobody wants to work these days. You have to surround yourself with people who want to work.”

“That’s so true,” her sister Kourtney chimed in. Her comment landed with a thud on social media and was almost as out of tune as Kim’s, as anyone who watched the show remembered her constant pleas to “stop working,” once going as far to say, “Work is not important to me.”

“Have a good work environment, where everybody loves what they do, because you have one life,” Kim continued. “No toxic work environments, and show up and do the work.”

But the Kardashians seem to have forgotten to walk the walk when it comes to a positive work environment for those who want to work for them.

In a Tweet, Los Angeles beauty editor Jessica Delfino shot back, “I was an editor on the Kardashian apps in 2015 in LA, worked days nights & weekends, could only afford groceries from the 99 Cents Only Store, called out “sick” more than once bc I couldn’t put gas in my car to get to the office, & was reprimanded for freelancing on the side ❤️”

It seems the sisters forgot to adequately pay the hardworking women who helped build the Kardashian army as well.

As Kris Kardashian told Variety in the same interview, “Well, money always matters.”

Reps for Kardashians has not responded to Los Angeles magazine’s request for comment.
