Might as well tell your boss now that you’ll be cutting out of work for a bit this morning.
Fresh off their FIFA World Cup win in Vancouver on Sunday, the entire United States Women’s National Team will be posted up at L.A. Live’s Microsoft Center today hosting a free and public celebration in honor of clinching the first Women’s World Cup championship since 1999. Of the team’s 23 members, seven played at the high school or college level in either Los Angeles or Orange county (defender Whitney Engen, midfielders Shannon Boxx and Lauren Holiday, and forwards Sydney Leroux, Alex Morgan, Christen Press, and Amy Rodriguez). Parking will be available after 9 a.m. in the West garage, and the festivities will begin at 11 a.m. Not in L.A.? The whole shebang will be broadcast on a special edition of America’s Pre-Game on FOX Sports 1 & FOX Sports Go.
For those who are able to head downtown for the rally, here’s a sample out-of-office message that you’re more than welcome to lift.
Thanks for your email. I’m really busy hanging out with professional soccer players, namely the 2015 Women’s World Cup champions. I’ll get to your email when I can, but don’t expect it to be any time soon.
