Get in Free to L.A. Museums

This deal is more for tourists than locals, but it’s still pretty cool: Book a stay of two or more nights at a Los Angeles area hotel between October 1 and November 11 via Discover Los Angeles and you’ll get two free admissions at any of 30 museums. The roster includes the biggies — LACMA, MOCA, the Hammer, the Natural History Museum, and the California Science Center — as well the Crafts and Folk Art Museum, the Japanese American National Museum, the Huntington, the Paley Center and tons of other arts institutions (full list below). As for room and board, you have your pick of 220 hotels with downtown L.A.’s Stay on Main offering the most budget friendly option: rooms for $58/night. Staycation, anyone?

On another note, the Petersen Auto Museum, which recently celebrated revolutionary design house Bertone, will indefinitely extend its Blue Star program, which provides free admission to active military personnel and their families. Active military members or their spouses can bring their current military ID to the museum and receive admission for up to two additional adult family members and two children.
