There is only one thing in the world better than a corgi, and that is hundreds of corgis running around on the beach, in costumes, free as the wind. On Saturday, April 8, the corgis of Southern California will unite to do just that at Huntington Dog Beach for Corgi Beach Day, and you can embrace the magic of these stubby, lovable animals.
The event starts at 10 a.m. with photo kiosks so your corgi can have its photo taken. While the corgi is not L.A.’s “it dog”–this dog clearly is–it is possibly the most photogenic. At 11 a.m. there will be a corgi talent contest, followed by corgi costume contests at noon. Other events include cupcake eating contests, a limbo contest, and most importantly, a best corgi butt contest.
Over 4,000 humans have RSVP’d yes to the event on Facebook, with another 11,000 expressing interest. (The amount of corgi attendees is unclear, as they don’t have Facebook. Yet.) There will be two more Corgi Beach Days this year, one on July 1 and another on October 28. More information on these upcoming events can be found here.
