A New Coachella Documentary Drops This Month Celebrating ‘20 Years in the Desert’

Update 4/1/2020: Amid early-March’s certainty around the IRL Coachella, the premiere date of a new documentary about the festival was pushed back. Now the film will drop on April 10, so fans around the world can get a reminder of what it was like to travel to the desert and gather in huge groups for live music, even as they shelter at home.

Starting in March, fans everywhere will get to learn a little bit more about the most influential music festival on earth. The first official Coachella documentary, Coachella: 20 Years in the Desertwill premiere on YouTube on March 31, 2020.

The first trailer dropped today, a short teaser hinting at what may be to come. Statements from producers claim the film will include never-before-seen footage and interviews, both recent and pulled from deep in the archives.

Among the artists appearing in the documentary will be Billie Eilish, Kanye West, Daft Punk, Travis Scott, LCD Soundsystem, Björk, Madonna, the White Stripes, Radiohead, and many others. The feature will drop just ahead of the 2020 festival in April.
