Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette Are Going to Live-Read True Romance At the Ace Hotel Tonight

Yes, really

Director Jason Reitman has moved his “Live Read” series from LACMA to the ACE Hotel, and he’s killing it straight out of the gate. At 8:00 p.m. tonight, Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette will reprise their roles as Clarence Worley and Alabama Whitman in Quentin Tarantino’s epic love story, True Romance.

Slater and Arquette—while obviously a massive draw—aren’t the only monumental appearances being made this evening. Kevin Pollak will play Vicenzo Coccotti, the role originated by Christopher Walken; J.K. Simmons will play Clifford Worley, the role originated by Dennis Hopper; Jon Favreau will play Virgil, the role originated by James Gandolfini; Paul Scheer will play Elliot Blitzer, the role originated by Bronson Pinchot; and in a truly inspired bit of casting, Alabama Whitman (yes, her) will play Dick Ritchie, the role originated by Michael Rapaport.

Reitman’s past “Live Read” events have included The Princess Bride, The Big Lebowski, and Reservoir Dogs. Tickets for tonight’s show are still available here and range from $50 to $125.
