Caitlyn Jenner Once Forbade the Kardashian Kids from Uttering O.J. Simpson’s Name

The reality star opens up about her reaction in the wake of the Trial of the Century

More than 25 years after the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, Caitlyn Jenner is still haunted by the memory of her ex-wife’s best friend.

Jenner opened up about how the killings and the trial—in which Kris Kardashian’s ex-husband, Robert Kardashian, defended O.J.—affected her life with Kris, Khloe, Kourtney, and Kim on last night’s episode of British reality show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

“I saw Nicole two days before she was murdered,” Jenner told Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway and former EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa, Cosmopolitan UK reports. “It was Kris’s best friend, we were right in the middle of it. [Kris’] ex-husband Robert—OJ was the best man at their wedding.”

According to Caitlyn, Kris discussed her own feelings of regret about Nicole’s death when a jury found Simpson not guilty of the double homicide in 1995, but didn’t spell out exactly what Kardashian meant.

“It was a bad time for everybody, very difficult,” Jenner said. “We knew what happened and this trial was a joke and when the verdict came down Kris just turned around to me and goes, ‘We should have listened to Nicole from the beginning. She was right.'”

The verdict also caused a rift in the Jenner-Kardashian home.

“That night the verdict came in Kourtney and Kimberly were in school and obviously they loved their father—and they should—and they’d been following this for a year and a half,” Caitlyn recalled.

“And when they walked in the door, I think it was Kourtney who said: ‘Well I told you he didn’t do it’. And I just said to the girls: ‘I don’t want his name ever mentioned in this house again.’”
