L.A.’s Own Billie Eilish Will Perform Live at the Oscars

She isn’t nominated for an Oscar, but who cares, really?

Billie Eilish has been tapped to perform live at the 92nd Oscars on February 9. She isn’t nominated for an Oscar, but why get hung up on those sorts of things? Let Billie Eilish enjoy the victory lap of her year of pop dominance.

She will be joining previously announced musical guests Randy Newman, Elton John, Chrissy Metz, Idina Menzel, Cynthia Erivo, and Questlove. Five of those performers will be staging their pieces that are up for this year’s Original Song award, while Questlove is making “special appearance.” The orchestra will be guest-conducted during one segment by Eímear Noone, the first woman to ever conduct the orchestra during the Oscars telecast.

While Eilish isn’t nominated for an Academy Award this time around, there’s a chance she could be next year. It was announced earlier this month that she will perform the theme song for No Time to Die, the 25th James Bond film. Two Bond themes have won Oscars in the past, for Adele in 2013 and Sam Smith in 2015.
