Highland Park-based pop phenom Billie Eilish is back, announcing details today of her hotly-anticipated second album. Eilish, it seems, spent her quarantine holed up with producer-brother FINNEAS in their Los Angeles studio, hard at work on new music. The result of those efforts are the 16 songs that comprise Happier Than Ever, set to release on July 30 and available to pre-order or pre-save today.

“I don’t think I would’ve made the same album, or even the album at all, if it weren’t for COVID,” Eilish said during a February appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. “That doesn’t mean it’s about COVID at all, it’s just that, when things are different in your life, you’re different. That’s just how it is. So, I have to thank COVID for that.”
On Monday, Eilish dropped a 15-second preview clip, showing off her fresh platinum blonde hair and the vintage visual aesthetic that appears to carry through the album’s roll-out. The first full song from the album is expected to drop on April 29.
