Before the Stuffing: Find Your Local Turkey Trot Right Here

Before you fight your way through another helping of turkey, one mouthful at a time, start Thanksgiving Day the healthy way.

Before you commence fork-fighting your relatives over the last turkey wing then pass out on the couch to the incessant chatter of football commentators, make sure you do at least one healthy thing this Thanksgiving.

Turkey trots—5K, 10K, and occasionally half-marthon runs that are customarily held on T-day—are a good way to work off the guilt (if you’re inclined to feel any) in advance. After all, Thanksgiving Day is the kickoff to a five-week marathon of gluttony that swallows many Americans. We’ve rounded up all the turkey trots in and around L.A., so this year there’s no excuse. The real benefit is that if you run off some of those calories now, there’ll be more room for Christmas dinner.
