Don’t get us wrong. We really dug Game of Thrones‘ horse lord Khal Drogo (a.k.a. Hawaiian beefcake Jason Momoa), when he stepped up his sword-and-sandals game in the 2011 remake of the 1982 classic Conan the Barbarian, but there will always only be one true Conan in our hearts: former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Luckily, Schwarzenegger has been gearing up to take on the mantle (or loin-cloth, if you will) with a new Conan movie set to follow the original films—Conan the Barbarian spawned a moderately successful sequel, Conan the Destroyer, in 1984. Supposedly, Schwarzenegger has been working on finding a studio to back the endeavor for the past twenty years but only recently has the ball started rolling.

So what can we expect? “When we meet him again, Conan has been many things over the course of his life—a thief, a warrior, a pirate, a king, a legend—and is now an older man. Think Unforgiven … with a sword-wielding barbarian,” says screenwriter Chris Morgan to the site TheArnoldFans.com.

Who among the original films’ cast will reprise their roles remains to be seen. “Without naming names … it’s at least three,” Morgan confirms. We’d sure love to find out what happened to the spirit of the Wolf Witch.
