As the impeachment of Donald Trump continues to suck the oxygen out of the room (and rightfully so), prolific producer and provocateur Ryan Murphy is continuing to cast the next iteration of the campy crime serial, American Crime Story.
The FX hit is following up its first two seasons—which focused on the O.J. Simpson murder case and the killing of fashion designer Gianni Versace, respectively—with American Crime Story: Impeachment, a look back at the Bill Clinton sex scandal and the political fallout that resulted. Will we ever tire of rolling around in the Clintons’ dirty laundry? Doubtful.
Today, Deadline announced a new addition to the cast: comedian Billy Eichner will play conservative web pioneer Matt Drudge. In case your recall of 1998 isn’t great, Drudge’s eponymous site, The Drudge Report, broke the news of the President’s relationship with Lewinsky.
Eichner joins Clive Owen as Bill Clinton, Beanie Feldstein as Monica Lewinsky, Murphy standby Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp, and Annaleigh Ashford as Paula Jones.
The show is set to start filming in March, and it’s still unclear whether it’ll premiere before election day in November (and there’s still no word on who’ll play Hillary). In the meantime, here’s a look at how the casting stacks up to real life.
