This July, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel fall in love—the sweet but complicated kind—as Tom and Summer in the quirky romantic comedy 500 Days of Summer.
Building on the positive buzz from this year’s Sundance Film Festival, Fox Searchlight produced a series of short videos featuring the indie-film ingenues chatting candidly about growing up in L.A. (where Summer is set)—which was, apparently, also complicated.
In this particular exclusive video, Gordon-Levitt and Deschanel raise some serious questions about the city: Is the Valley, like, French Canada? Do cool people do cool things and aren’t in the movie business? Who doesn’t defend L.A. all day? And—most worrisome—is the Sunset Strip a secret training ground for
New Yorkers L.A. haters?
We’d love to respond, but it’s complicated.
500 Days of Summer hits theatres July 17. Check back soon for our review of the film’s L.A. Film Festival screening.
