ARCHITECTURE: Downtown Modernism

THEATER: Feathers of FireA Persian Epic
Guggenheim fellowship-winning filmmaker and visual artist Hamid Rahmanian brings the Persian epic Shahnameh to life in a shadow-puppet play. With more than 160 shadow puppets and performers, it’s the largest theater of its kind to ever be performed. Los Lobos will kick off the 43rd annual Topanga Days as the festival’s headliner. Each year a zany, colorful crowd gathers to celebrate Memorial Day weekend with music, clothes, crafts, and a unique parade in Topanga State Park. The three-day event benefits the Topanga Community Club.
