More than 20,000 people will arrive at the park gussied up in pearls, furs, and all manner of snazzy headwear. In addition to the Friday park jaunt, this year’s festivities include a Saturday vintage car show, a Charles Phoenix slide presentation, and the official after-party Folly with multiple rooms of live entertainment. MUSIC: HUSHconcert: Daft Punk v. Radiohead

SPORTS: Nautica Malibu Triathlon presented by Equinox

MUSIC: Mad Decent Block Party

CONFAB: Hispanic Heritage Festival and Classic Car Show
The City of Inglewood is hosting this event to honor the contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans. Grupo Folklorico, Sonsoles, and Pantom of Steel will perform, among others. More information (September 19, Crozier Middle School)

MUSIC: Taiwanese Opera by Ming Hwa Yuan Art and Cultural Group
Ming Hwa Yuan is one of the oldest troupes to perform Ge Zai Xi, or Taiwanese opera. On Saturday, they will present “General of the Empire” and “Lovebird’s Spears.” Shows will include English subtitles.
