There are ample ways to help provide or orchestrate a Thanksgiving feast for your community this year. We’ve rounded up a few local organizations that are looking for everything from canned goods to monetary donations to hands-on volunteers—time to step up to the plate (with serving spoon in hand).
WHEN: Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Thursday beginning at 6 a.m., with shifts at 6 a.m., 8 a.m., 10 a.m, 12 p.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. You can drop in any time on Wednesday to help with setup, but if you’re planning to show up on Thursday, you need to call a hotline at 310-394-3153. They will assign you a two-hour shift.

WHAT: Hundreds of volunteers come together to serve a traditional dinner to veterans, students, low-income families, seniors, the homeless, and anyone else who may be alone for the holiday. The event is fully volunteer-driven; donations including foodstuffs, clothing, toys, and more are all needed. For more information on how you can contribute, visit the event’s donations page.

Call 310-860-0022 to reserve your spot.
