First it was Carmageddon, now it’s The Rampture. Ramp closures on the 405 freeway begins tonight at 10 p.m., with the westbound on-ramps and off-ramps at Wilshire closed until late September. The reconstruction of all eight Wilshire ramps is expected to take more than a year.
The Metro is encouraging Angelenos who need to get to and from the Westside to find alternate traffic routes, including Santa Monica and Sunset Boulevards.
More bad news: the VA hospital is shutting its gates until the construction ends 90 days from now (read: no more time-saving shortcuts).
If you’re interested in seeing what the area will look like post-construction, take a look at this fact sheet provided by the Metro.
God speed, drivers.
