You Can’t Eat the Sunshine is a weekly podcast series produced by Kim Cooper and Richard Schave in which the Esotouric founders talk with L.A. personalities about the city’s myths, contradictions, and inspirations.
This week, Kim and Richard talk with Jackie Miller of Sister Aimee Semple McPherson’s Heritage Center, who recalls a moment from McPherson’s past when the nun met a young Anthony Quinn and subsequently prayed for healing for the boy’s Grandmother. According to Miller, Quinn was a tireless supporter of McPherson from then on.
In this exclusive clip, the duo chat with Southern California tile expert Brain Kaiser, who reveals one architectural mystery of The Roosevelt Hotel that came to be in 1927 and the gorgeous tile that still lies beneath it.
