Phase 2 of the Purple Line Extension Could Wrap Up a Full Year Ahead of Schedule

The future of the Metro is headed this way

If it feels like the Purple Line Extension won’t be completed for forever, we have good news: It’s more like forever minus one year… maybe. Yesterday the MTA Board gave the Metro the green light to seek funds in the forms of a New Stars grant worth more than a billion dollars and a federal loan worth more than $300 million to get the project, which will extend the Purple Line from Wilshire/La Cienega to a stop at Avenue of the Stars/Constellation, wrapped up in 2025, one year ahead of schedule. The future is coming, if not at lightning speed, at least more quickly than expected.
