Off the Record: Top Draw

This week our Ask Chris columnist Chris Nichols answers the question, Is there really a bra-fitting school near Pasadena? You can see his reply here, but here’s something we’re not supposed to tell you about the column:

Articles editor Richard E. Meyer ( a Pulitzer-nominated journalist) took five walks down the hall to confer with Nichols about brassiere sizes while working on the story. The tete-a-tetes were over a point of fact taught by Monrovia’s Wizard of Bras: that the cup-dimensions on sizes 40A, 38B, 36C, 34D, and 32DD are equal. “It didn’t make sense,” says Meyer. “How can different sizes be the same? After 56 years of attentive observation, you’d think I’d have it figured out.”
