Off the Record: The Cover Shoot


Already cracked open the October issue, on  newsstands now?

Here’s a tidbit about the cover we’re not supposed to tell you.

It took 4 minutes and 2 seconds—the length of Justin Timberlake’s hit “Sexy Back”—to finally get models bumpin’ at the Great Nights Out cover shoot.  No one was grooving to design director Steven Banks’ playlist, which consisted mainly of Robin Thicke tunes. Then photographer Art Streiber’s 15-year-old daughter, Siena, replaced Banks’s iPod with her own and pressed play on the Timberlake song. Says Siena, “Everybody started dancing and was like, ‘Who put this on?’”
